The History of Suntory Whisky
Suntory was founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, who envisioned a whisky that would suit the delicate and refined palate of the Japanese people. With the establishment of the Yamazaki Distillery, Japan’s first commercial whisky distillery, Suntory set out to craft a distinctly Japanese whisky that balanced tradition with innovation.
