IZAKAYA Juraku homemade tonic

At Izakaya Juraku, we're excited to introduce our house-made Japanese Citrus & Sansho Tonic, a refreshing blend that captures the essence of Japan's unique flavors. Crafted in collaboration with Kankitsu Labo, our tonic features a harmonious mix of premium Japanese citrus fruits and the distinctive zing of sansho pepper.

The Citrus Symphony

Our tonic showcases a selection of Japan's finest citrus varieties:

  • Yuzu: Celebrated for its aromatic zest and tart juice, yuzu imparts a bright, floral note that elevates the tonic's complexity.

  • Amanatsu: With its sweet-tart flavor and abundant juice, amanatsu adds a delightful sweetness and depth to the blend.

  • Iyokan: Slightly sweeter and more fragrant than yuzu, iyokan provides a juicy, well-rounded citrus character.

  • Kawachi Bankan: A rare citrus with a mild sweetness and refreshing bitterness, kawachi bankan lends a nuanced depth to the mix.

  • Setouchi Lemon: Grown in Japan’s Seto Inland Sea region, this lemon is known for its well-balanced acidity and gentle aroma, offering a crisp, refreshing finish.

The Sansho Sensation

To complement the citrus medley, we've infused the tonic with sansho pepper, a Japanese spice renowned for its lemony aroma and tongue-tingling sensation. Sansho adds a peppery kick that enhances the citrus flavors, creating a refreshing and invigorating experience.
